Soup

Soup is perhaps my favorite of homemade meals.  There are so many good ones out there!
While my favorite is still this soup, but I made another good one this past weekend.

Chicken Wild Rice Soup.

A Monterey Weekend

Jordan's parents won a trip to Monterey this past weekend, which just happens to be
about an hour and a half away from our home.  They were so kind to share their vacation with us.
It was such a perfect weekend.  Just what I needed after my 10 days alone.

Our weekend consisted of eating lots of tasty food, shopping in Carmel, and relaxing.
It was my kind of weekend.

What's for dinner

BBQ Chicken Sandwich,

or salad.
I was nervous how this was going to turn out, but it turned out to be so good!

To make, mix together these ingredients in crockpot:
1 1/2 cups Ketchup
3 TBS Brown Sugar
*1/8 cup BBQ Sauce
1 TBS Soy Sauce
1 TBS Worcestershire Sauce
1 TBS Apple Cider Vinegar
1 tsp. crushed red pepper
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder.
*I only added BBQ Sauce because I was afraid it was going to be too tomato-ey,
but I'm sure it would have been just as great without it.

After all ingredients are mixed together add 2-4 chicken breasts and cover with sauce.
Cook for 3-4 hours.

I also made some coleslaw to top it off, made with mayonnaise, sugar, and lemon juice,
mixed with a shredded cabbage/carrot/broccoli mixture.

It was so good, and so easy.
Yum.

Fast Food

Since when does Wendy's have macaroni and cheese?

Have you tried it?
Let me know.

And I don't know about you, but take off that chili,
and I am sure those fries would be good!

A Easter Meal

I made us our first turkey dinner.

Yummy

I love my new dishes.*
And this is perhaps one of my favorite meals.
It was tasty.
:)

*And by dishes, I
mean my plates, bowls, etc.
Not like food dishes.

Specialty's

I have been waiting for this new sandwich shop to open for months now.
And it finally happened!
The great thing about this place, it is right next door.
Like it is quicker for me to walk there than it is to get in the car and drive.

Jordan and I went on Friday night for dinner.

Soups     Salads     Sandwiches     Pastry's     Drinks    Deliciousness

Jordan's sandwich was the best (sandwich 1), though both were tasty.
He was ever so kind to share with me.

They threw in some free muffins and cookies to try to win us back too.

We'll be back.

(Actually, I went back for lunch yesterday, I didn't tell Jordan I went without him)

I love chicken

We aren't that fancy here.
More often than not, when Jordan and I go to a restaurant, I look through the menu, then order Chicken Tenders and Fries.
If you add a salad and chips and salsa, that is my favorite meal.

The greatest Chicken and Fries I have ever, EVER had, was on our way to Georgia last summer, and we stopped at BBKings in Nashville.
{first picture below}
I want to drive to Georgia again just for that reason.

I don't believe people who claim to love sushi.
I think they are just trying to impress their friends to be honest.
If you are wanting to spend that much on food, get real and order a steak.

I like pizza and pasta, have recently become fond of steak, I think Chinese is just ok, and I  love Mexican food, but think it is safe to say
Chicken Tenders and French Fries are probably my favorite.

This last weekend Jordan and I made our way to Cheesecake Factory.
They are in the running for some of the greatest Chicken Tenders and Fries
(and also make quite the killer side salad might I add. . . . )

Salsa

My Grandma Parry is the sweetest.

While I was in Utah, I was so excited to do my salsa.

I mentioned I was going to make it, and my sweet grandmother
said I should just go to her house to do it, and she would help me.

What did I tell you, she's the best.

We were also lucky enough to have the company of the Ryan, and the Cooks.
Benny was our  "happy helper" for the day.

Thank you Grandma P.
Your help was much needed and much appreciated.

I then decided to make two more batches on my own the following day.

I now am well supplied with salsa for the year. . . .

Now my next manner of business, work on getting the salsa to California.
